  • To protect ourselves and our lives

  • To choose how we use our time and energy

  • To allow us to interact and contribute healthily

 

When Setting Boundaries:

  • Focus on what works for you - don't make others wrong

  • Make the person right, address the behaviour

  • Speak calmly and assertively

 

Four Step Boundary Enforcement Model
 

  • Inform them of what does not work for you

  • Request them to change their behaviour

  • State the consequences of continuing this behaviour

  • Carry out the consequences
